Data Strategy with a Straight Bat.
I’m Jim, and I’ve spent the last 14 years proving that data isn’t just a “tech thing”—it’s the heartbeat of a successful business.
For over a decade, I’ve worked at the intersection of Data, CRM, and Governance. My career has been dedicated to a single mission: reinforcing the value of data, ensuring its integrity, and protecting it from misuse. I’ve seen firsthand how the right insights can transform a company—and how “messy” data can act like a brick wall, stopping growth in its tracks.
Why Line & Length?
The name comes from my love of cricket, but the philosophy comes from my career. In cricket, Line and Length is about the discipline of hitting the right spot, over after over.
In data, it’s the same. You don’t need “flashy” AI buzzwords or over-complicated systems. You need:
- The Right Line: Data that aligns with your specific business goals.
- The Right Length: Sustainable, governed processes that work for the long term.
A Local Perspective
Except for four years at university in Winchester (where I was lucky enough to meet my wife), I’ve lived in Kent and Sussex my entire life. I understand the local business landscape—from the bustling creative hubs in Brighton to the established firms in the Weald.
When I’m not deep in a dataset or a CRM audit, you’ll usually find me:
- At the Crease: Watching or playing cricket.
- Behind the Lens: Pursuing my passion for photography.
- In the Great Outdoors: Keeping up with Bear, my Border Collie, across the South Downs.
My Promise to You
I started Line & Length because I wanted to take the high-level governance and data power used by big corporations and make it accessible to SMEs in our region. I’m here to help you stop fighting your data and start using it to win.
